kadi's quilt...

My friend, Des, of Quilt Taffy, offered a mystery quilt through a little modern guild we belong to in Idaho and this was on the agenda last year.
I don't typically participate in mystery's, but I love Des and knew this one was going to be super cute, so  I jumped on board.
So glad I did.
It was easy, quick, and fun.

It's just giant half squares and alternating squares.
You could set them any way you like!
I set mine in kind of an arrow looking pattern.
(Sorry I didn't take a full length picture - I was just too excited to get it to Kadi!)

Mmmmmmm - a pretty fleece backing.

I quilted it in a clamshell design - level #2.
(supa-dupa fun to quilt!)

It's for my favorite niece, Kadi.
And yes, I hugged the quilt before I gave it to her.
Love you, Kadi!

  2. I love how poofy your clamshells are! Where I live, we never need anything but really low loft batting, so I'm jealous of people who can use high loft batting. (I could, but then I'd need ice packs under the quilt.)

    1. I actually have a low-loft batt in it - 80/20. It's the fleece backing that makes it poofy! giggling at the thought of using a quilt with ice packs under it....funny! Thanks for your comment, Karen.

    2. No nap is complete without a quilt and a couple of cats. So I turn the fans on high so that I won't swelter. :)

  6. Love it....of course!! Already thinking of a quilt to use the clamshells on. Can't wait to get back on my machine. I need to find myself a guild to join too. Is the backing polar fleece? I'm discovering something more cozy would be good for winter in NJ :)

    1. Yes, the backing is polar fleece - something you might consider now that you're closer to the north pole than you were before! Oh - a little something is headed your way.....to help with the cold! xxoo
