vintage find...

I had a little extra space in my kitchen and I wanted needed some type of free standing cupboard to fill it.
Soooooo - this summer I found this darling 1930-40's Hoosier cupboard at the local antique shop.
"Oh zippy", I said, "This will fit perfectly in my kitchen."
So my adorable husband brought it home on my birthday...
 I know....swoon....
It needed another paint job (normally I don't paint antiques),
so I grabbed this vintage pitcher, took it to the nice paint man, and he matched it up real nice for me.
The cupboard had three parts to it
including the white enamel counter top.
I love it so much and it's FULL of canned goods, pots & pans, potatoes and on and on!
Do you just love a great vintage find???

  1. Awesome! I have a hoosier cabinet that my hubby bought me in Ohio (swoon). We kept it in our kitchen there. I have no room for it here, so it's stored in the basement. I can't bare to part with it. I'll find a space for it one day! Love yours!

    1. Sometimes you just need to bring it home...the space will find itself! At least that's what I tell myself!

  5. Oh I love this. Such a useful cabinet. I would love one, but in my dinky kitchen there is just barely room for stove and fridge. Enjoy it.

    1. I totally understand "dinky kitchen" space. I have one, too. So - that's why this smart little unit works really well. Thanks for the comments!

  6. Wow-great find! When I was a little girl, by aunt had one of these is her farmhouse pantry. The top had a flour sifter in it.

    1. Most of the ones I researched has the flour sifters. Mine doesn't, but it's still functional & fabulous!
