Fig Tree stash...

A customer asked me what my favorite types of fabrics are.
Well - I have several "collections".
But, I won't bore you with all of them - at least not now.
One of my favorites is Fig Tree.
Have I made anything with them?
um...nope!
But I have a GREAT stash!

And I have a great pattern I'm itching to get started on.
I've saved it for literally YEARS!

Whenever I quilt a customers quilt that has Fig Tree prints I run to my stash, pet my stash, then put them away for the wonderful day when I'm able to start on "Coney Island".
This Fig Tree beauty was pieced by Amanda from Alaska.
SIGH and SWOON!!!

Here is a close-up of her border.
Oh, how I love pinwheels!

I think I'll go check on my stash, AGAIN!
What are some of your favorite types of fabrics?

  1. Oh how gorgeous!! I can't wait to see what you create with your beloved Fig Tree fabrics! :o) Right now I am over the moon in love with Avalon (that quilt will be coming your way for quilting - smile) and Marmalade!

  2. This is so beautiful! I'm a beginner quilter so as my husband says "your quilts have a casual air that is most appealing" translation, my squares just don't quite line up as perfectly as the photo above. Lol
I'm working on it though, don't judge me when I finally send one in with my gift certificate ok?

    1. There is no judging allowed in my quilting world! Husband words - very thought out! Oh, and I love beginner quilters! Love their energy and excitement over a simple 9-patch!

  3. Ha! I was just looking through my fabric today. I don't have much of a stash (on purpose). But I did notice I have more Fig Tree fabric than any other designer. I love her stuff. I too, have yet to make anything with my fabric though. One can dream, right?

  4. I thought I could only love civil war, 1930's repro and prim/country fabric but boy was I wrong! I'm making a quilt using Vintage Modern (and now 2 of my daughters want quilts using it) I also just signed up for a BOM using Fig Tree's Avalon. It is just gorgeous!! See, you can teach an old dog new tricks!! lol

    1. I love Civil War & 30's also. I have tubs - yes, that's plural - of both of them. Yep - old dogs learning new tricks - that's me, too!

  5. I am the same way with my favorites! I cannot cut into them. Isn't it sad? If I made something out of them, they'd be out of the sewing room, where I would enjoy them even more!

    1. If I could just get the courage to make that first cut....sillyness, but so true!

  6. I just had to comment on your Fig Tree stash! I think mine is bigger than yours and I must have 20 of her patterns! lol! I made a simple window valance using a jelly roll from Allspice Tapestry and a wall hanging from a combination of her lines. If I make something from this stash once a month, maybe I'll make a dent! By the way, I found you while browsing Notes of Sincerity. Lovely blogs!
