gift from husband...

So the husband goes to a "clean up the VFW hall" day today and sees something in the very dirty basement and tells the guys, "oh...don't throw that out.  My wife likes old things.  I know this, because I'm old and she still likes me. So I'll take that home to her."
They all scratch their heads and say, "OK".
He gets home and says, "I brought you a present."  I know he's been at the very old and very dirty VFW hall cleaning and I can only imagine what he's bringing me.
But, he does know me very well.
And in the back of the pick-up is THIS:

Holy macaroni...
I believe it's an old church bench.
My husband says, "We can paint it."
GASP!!!  Green is my favorite color!  It stays green...period.
So I grab my little antique enamel bucket and start scrubbing.

Then I snag my favorite green quilt, (I know you've already seen it but certain "loves" are worth seeing over and over), and toss it on the back.
They were meant to be together - so pretty.

I love everything about it!  Look at that gouge to the left of my quilt.  And they simply painted over it!

Thank you, my sweet husband...I do love old things!

  9. I sort of laughed at your husband's reasoning: "sort of" because, well, my husband says the same sort of things....all the time, usually about me, they're generally true. Anyhoo, I am JEALOUS and not just a little bit!

I'd love one of those for my front porch too, but I'd have to paint mine red :)
