my blue-ish cupboard...

About a year ago we made this purchase:

Got it from the old ghost town of Virginia City, MT.
It's 150 years old - that's old!
Quilts go in the top and
I keep my recipe books in the bottom messy half.

We both love it - but I didn't love all the different pieces of wood....so....yep -
 I painted it.
Now, normally I wouldn't paint an antique but this one needed some help!
I love this blue.

I decided to only paint one coat because I wanted that antique look.
Worked exactly how I wanted it to.
That 150 year old wood soaked it right up!

Look at this way cool latch - puts a smile on my face.

I thought of filling the top shelf with my old blue tinted Mason/Kerr/Ball jars...

But, my quilts are happier there.

Everybody is back home....and I am through the roof happy with my new/old cupboard.

  2. I love what you did with the old cupboard! I have an old hutch that belonged to my mother-in-law that I would like to do something with. I know it's pretty old, but the finish is really dull.

    1. This finish was really dull, too. It certainly needed something to wake it up! Be brave - paint that old hutch!

  9. I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today, yet
I never found any interesting article like yours. It's pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

  10. Hey great website! Does running a blog similar to this take a massive amount work?
I have no understanding of programming but I was hoping to start my own blog soon.
Anyways, should you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.

I know this is off topic however I simply needed
    to ask. Many thanks!

  11. Heya this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you
have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  16. Hi there! Quick question that's completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I'm
trying to find a template or plugin that might be
able to fix this issue. If you have any suggestions, please share.

    Thanks!
