Lone Star anyone???

I actually love making Lone Star quilts - I know...just a bit hard to believe!
It was the first quilt I ever made - BEFORE I knew there were "levels" to quilting.
Sometimes what you don't know isn't so bad!
Here are my strip sets, cut, stair-step sewn and ready to be cut again.
Look at that stripe binding just hanging there on the left waiting to be added!

I've cut the strip sets on a 45 degree diagonal.
Ahhhh - it's starting to take shape!

The star points are sewn and set into a quilt.
I quilted a #3 level design - different in each area.

I added the left-over diagonal strips in a border to make the quilt rectangle.

This was a custom order for my friends Mark & Karen.
It's hanging in their home in Montana - so pretty!

And this is the original Queen size one of mine...Fig Tree prints - lovely...

  1. Very beautiful. I love the colors you used. I am getting my nerve to do a lone star. After all, I do live in Texas - right. Your quilting rocks. I learning that also.

    2. I appreciate your reply to my comment. I have found that there are many bloggers out there that I'm guessing all about the advertising and never respond, even in general to their fans comments. I so appreciate it.

The red quilt in my profile is my greatgrandmothers. The brown urn on the shelf is now about 125 years old, the quilt around 100 and the pink bowl about 7 as well. Thank you for the comment.

    1. The "sides" idea came from a fantastic friend in Idaho who had done the same thing....she gets the credit on that one!
