hot pad - easy peasy....

Someone asked me the other day if I ever get any of my own sewing done.....
Yes I do.  I recently joined a "Modern Quilt Group", via long-distance, in Idaho.  Our challenge was to make a hot pad then exchange them.  This is mine:

This is the back...LOVE "It's a Hoot" fabric by MoMo.

So - I took some of my favorite scraps, sewed them together not caring what the width was, layered them with one layer of cotton batting and one layer of Thinsulbright, (the stuff that makes it so you don't burn your fingers), then quilted it in a giant zig-zag that I saw posted here, at Crazy Mom Quilts.  This is my new favorite domestic machine quilting design!

Even though it's a small project, I do find ity bity bits of time to sew....just for me!

    1. Hey - I'm from SE Idaho. Attended ISU - still have my very orange sweat shirt! It's a guild that was just formed by some of my friends in the Shelley/Firth area. This is our first month/project. I grew up in IF but ended up in Pocatello. We moved to Challis then here in Montana. I get to go home when the roads are clear. I actually worked for Terrie at Sages Creek as one of her long-arm quilters before moving here. I miss the shop!

    3. I DO remember that class! I thought you looked familiar! I'll ask about the guild - it's in the beginning stages. SO fun to find people from the past again!
