Who remembers these?

I had my eye on this old school desk last fall.
It was in our local antique shop.
I thought for sure someone would snag it up before I could.
No one did - yay!
So I gathered my $40, yes, only $40, and bought it!
The chashier lady could not understand my joy!
But then, she is much younger than I am.
I had one sort of like this at Templeview Elementary school in Idaho Falls, ID.
Except ours were an ugly gray-ish color.
I love this color!
I thought, "There must be something terribly wrong with it for that price.
Maybe the wooden lid doesn't open."
Nothing wrong with the wooden lid which has a carved out area at the top for your pencils.
Jenny even autographed it....upper left corner says, "Jenny Howel's DESK."
love that.....
Of course I've already got it full with some of my favorite stash!
Now it's Kathy Olkowski's DESK!!!
