ironing is fun again!

My sister, LeAnn, purchased a very old wooden ironing board for each of us.
Mine sat around for a long time - didn't use it.

It needed a cover.
These are unusually small so they don't make covers for them.
BUT - there are many uses for them:
You can paint on them...

Use it for a shelf...(love the color of these legs)

Tote it to your next quilt retreat...
(isn't she cute)

Store fruit on them...

Or have a picnic on them...

Um....?

or....make a (wicked looking) towel rack!

I simply just wanted to use mine.
So - I pulled out this very old vintage quilt top and some cotton batting and started cutting.
Then wrapped the batting around to the back - stappled it down - and did the same with the top.

And here it is!

Ready to be used!!!

I do have a big chuck of the quilt top left over if anyone would like some.
I'll just send it your way!

  2. I have one old ironing board in my laundry room with coat hooks. Laundry is all in antiques. And I cut one down the middle lengthwise. Those pieces are now shelves in our bar around the pool table area. Big enuf for drinks but don't get in the way of shooting pool. I have one more....hmmmm what shall I do with it! Thanks for sharing your ideas ! FUN!!
