Two of my friends, Kathy C. and Leesa B., and I all had birthdays within the last couple of months. So - what better way to celebrate than to go visit some quilt shops. Kathy & I are "seasoned" quilters but Leesa is just starting out. She retired a little while ago so Kathy C. & I took it upon ourselves to show Leesa "the ropes of shop hopping". We chose 3 little quilt shops that none of us had ever visited in Montana. One was in Deer Lodge, MT, one in Whitehall, MT and the other was in Avon, MT. Leesa had no idea what she was in for! But - I think we did OK.
This is the shop in Avon, MT. that my friend (hi, Shauna) had suggested. It's very small but packed with treasures!
This is Kathy C. and Leesa - look how happy they are to be shopping at the Birdseye Mercantile. ALL of the bolted fabrics are $7.95 per yard! Kathy & Leesa are sitting down because we just HAULED all of their packages in to the back of my car and they are pooped!
Kathy & I talked about, "...building your stash", "...needing several projects to work on because it snows in the wintertime here", "just get ALL of the pinks - you don't need to make them matchy, matchy."
Leesa was a great student and caught on very well to this shop hopping thing.
We filled the back of my car so I guess it was time to go home.
My piddly little bag is way in the back...
I grabbed some lovely fat quarters to add to my stash.
And a bit of yardage.
I think I'll just look at them for a while before I cut them up.
What a super fun day, ladies. Let's not wait for another birthday to do this again!
