Heather's solids.....and Fig Tree BOM...

Heather is from Washington and sent me 2 quilts to quilt.

This first one is an amazing star/log cabin king size quilt.

I'm starting to see more and more solid color quilts.
There are so many beautiful solid pieces out there - more than ever before.
Heather's quilt is one of the most beautiful solid fabrics quilts I have ever seen.....ever!

It was a block of the month.
I decided to quilt an all-over swirl - I didn't want to detract from the piecing and gorgeous design.

I quilted ric-rac in the first inner border, orange peel in the pieced border, straight lines for the outer border and fan swirls in the outer corners.

The backing is bicycles - absolutely darling!

Heather also sent me this Fig Tree block of the month.

I'm starting to see quite a few of these and it's a darling quilt.
I love the dark blue/dot binding.
Frames it nicely.
She wanted an all-over design in the center and different borders - I love playing with the borders!
I quilted a ribbon and some loops in the blue dot border and a pretty echoed paisley in the outer border.

Very nice job on both of these quilts, Heather.
Thank you for letting me add my little bit to them.

I wonder if these are Christmas gifts???

  6. Solids do make for some really nice quilts, and they highlight the quilting so well. Great job on both of these! I especially like your border treatment in the plum of the first quilt :)
