Why do I think I need to always be making the more
difficult quilts?
I get all excited about challenging myself, pull out that challenging project that I've saved, pull all the fabrics I think I want to use, cut out maybe ONE block.....then put it away for another day.
I do love a challenge, but when my life is already full of all the things I love to do, I don't have time to just concentrate on one project that will consume my "free" time.
So - I decided to chose the word
"simplicity" for my 2017 goal.
My friend, Sherri, from Alaska, recently sent me this
quilt of hers to quilt.
It's so simple.
It's so perfect.
When she got the quilt back she said, "It's kind of fun how happy and simple squares quilt makes me feel."
I agree!
I quilted 1/4" on both sides of every seam - simple.
This Cotton & Steel fabric is perfect for the
backing & binding.
Pretty little squares...
That grey gingham alternating block is perfect, too.
Simple - simple & perfect.
I'm going to work on simplicity this year - thank you, Sherri, for the sweet reminder.
