modern quilting

I get to do a little "modern-style" quilting once in a while.  It is so darn fun!  I make it up as I go.
Here are a few examples:

Kathy C., from Montana, pieced this star studded/diamond beauty.

It had so  many different areas which lends itself to multiple designs.

Denise, from Florida, pieced this very modern quilt for a wedding couple:

Bright colors and large areas...

I used my boomerang template in this area:

I know I've shown this Kaffe Fassett beauty before, but it's worth viewing again.
It's Michelle's from Idaho.

Denise, from Florida, has been super busy.  She pieced this wonderful triangle quilt and asked that I quilt a water/wood grain design with variegated thread.

Sherri, from Alaska, pieced this pretty aqua quilt for a friend.  I love the softness of the colors.  I quilted small scale feathers and pebbles in the background, ribbons in the frames and lines in the squares.

 So, so pretty...
