vintage Christmas...

I'm a little bit old fashioned - I love the old vintage look of Christmas.
The bright reds, whites and greens are fun and festive, but I still find myself drawn toward the older, more muted colors & those lovely scenes of years gone by.
My dear sweet friend, Trish, of Notes of Sincerity, gave me a piece of this vintage Christmas fabric last year and I've saved it...not knowing what I was going to do with it.
I couldn't bear to cut it up!
So I used it to make a simple table runner for my home.

I've had this old Santa plate for years and years.
It goes perfectly with my little runner.

I bound the runner with a piece of green poke-a-dot - modern, yet the perfect colors.

I quilted the center with a simple small wave and the outer border with a large swirl - I didn't want to detract from the sweet scenes in the fabric.
Thank you, Trish.
I love it.

  6. Agreed - beautiful fabric and I think you chose the perfect way to present it best. Some fabrics can be so hard to cut up. Great choice of quilting as always! Hope you are decorated and enjoying some baking. Merry Merry Christmas!!!
