I finally finished a quilt of my own!
It was several years in the making, but it's finished!
I'm so happy with it!
This is one of those patterns that I could make at least a dozen quilts out of......I love it that much!
I used all Denyse Schmidt prints - one of my favorite designers.
I quilted rows of single loops - one of my favorite quilting designs.
Love this old fence. It's right next door to our home......at Channels Ranch.
I made my quilt just a little larger than the original pattern - 30 blocks - and added some extra sashing.
As I was taking pictures, these two beauties came over to see what was going on.
I think she was just looking for an apple treat - I'll bring them one tomorrow.
I used a couple of different prints for the backing - Denyse Schmidt's "Hope Valley",
then added a scrappy binding.
I love my quilt so much - so does my pretty chestnut neighbor!
It still hangs on my shed - I love it!
That;s cute. She was thinking it was a present for her!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right! She just kept hanging around!
DeleteI've just been looking at all my Denyse charm packs thinking I need to have them all together in a quilt. Love her fabrics. Cute cute Spin Cycle! Awesome pics!
ReplyDeleteYep - get those charm packs sewn up! They're already cut for you.....I love her fabrics, too. Thanks!
DeleteBeautiful quilt and lovely quilting! And those gorgeous horses are a great extra in your pics!
ReplyDeleteNicely done!!
Aw - thank you Melinda! It was such a fun moment when the horses came up to me to "help".
DeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marianne - it was a fun moment!
DeleteI love it so much!!!! Background color is fab...and so is your quilting!
ReplyDeleteAh - thanks, Debbie. It's my favorite quilt to date!
DeleteAH, you guys are socked in with smoke, too, I see! Ours is so thick here that at times we can't even see across our narrow valley. What a wildfire season, eh? Your quilt is lovely, and WTG on getting one done for yourself. How did you get the loops quilted so straight?
ReplyDeleteThe smoke is so thick this year - can't even see the mountains that surround us! The loops are super easy - especially when you have straight, even seams in the quilt to follow! Thanks!
DeleteThis is beautiful Kathy! I love the colors and I never tire of seeing what everyone does to make this pattern their own. Hope all is well with you. I'm just catching up after being ill.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've been ill.......not good! Hope all is well and you're on the mend. Thank you for the compliments - I really love this quilt. hugs.....
