Quilts of Valor...

With Memorial Day coming up I wanted to honor all the wounded veteran's and pay tribute to this incredible
I have been an active supporter and volunteer for several years.
Our local quilt guild has jumped on board and made around 15 quilts for the program in the last couple of months.

My two friends have contributed these patriotic lovelies...

Kathy, from Cameron, MT, made this beauty:

Here's a close up of it:
(I quilted all over double bubbles)

Leesa, from McAllister, MT., made this one...
It was one of her first quilts ever.

And here's a close up of the center:
(I quilted echoed stars & swirls)

I made a simple giant zigzag with giant 1/2 squares:
( just quilted a wave with variegated patriotic thread)

Here's another striking one by Kathy (the other Kathy).
She is completely passionate about this program and devotes hours and hours to sewing up these treasures.

I quilted a simple meander & threw in some stars.

Maybe consider making a Quilt of Valor.
It's a very touching program and our way of saying,
 "thank you."

Please remember to thank those who serve.

"Thank you" my son, Marine Corps Captain, Riley Ockerman.

"Thank you", my son, Army Sargent, Gavin Ockerman.

And "thank you", my step-son, Logan Carney, Navy.

  5. My mom does such a great job and you always make the perfect final touches! What a team of Kathy's you are.
Glad to see you are not all Army and have a little Navy in the family. I am sure you know why I am a little partial to Navy.
As always, love your kindness in your help with this program and your friendship with my mom.
