Hello Jane....new fabric line

Allison, of Cluck Cluck Sew, asked me to quilt this cute quilt made out of her newest fabric line, "Hello Jane".

Cascade Quilt Pattern in Hello Jane

Jane is her little girl.
While Allison was in the hospital welcoming Jane into the world, she was still adding the finishing touches to this adorable fabric line.
You can read more about this quilt/pattern
She's so smart - naming the fabric line after
her pretty little one.
This is just one of her new patterns.
AND - she's offering a discount on her patterns by using the code:  Hellojane
Just go to her pattern shop here.
I had such fun quilting her "Cascade" quilt.

Allison usually let's me pick the quilting design, so I quilted
ity bity loops on the white background
and large "L's" inside the diamonds.

Don't you just love the purple fabrics she introduced
in this line?
I have very little purple in my stash of fabric.
I need to start adding more!

Allison also made a crib size with just the purples.....
for Miss Jane.

Is she about the cutest in those ruffle bum pants?
Thank you, Allison, for creating such fun, pretty
fabrics for all of us.
This line comes out in May, but it's listed in several online shops now so you can be notified when it arrives.
Spring is just around the corner - I can feel it with these pretty prints!

"Squares & Strips" quilt & Starry Night retreat

Last fall I attended a fantastic quilt retreat in beautiful
McCall, ID.
It was put together by two sisters, Cori & Des, owners of the online quilt shop, Quilt Taffy.
They are my friends.
Even if they weren't my friends for years, after the retreat I would have considered them my friends.
The retreat was so much fun!
One of the "offers" they showered us with was this darling quilt kit to purchase using the free tutorial pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew.
It measures about 64" x 80"

You can view it here.
It's called "Squares & Strips".

It only took me only 5 hours to sew it up at the retreat.  Seriously!
The fabrics are from Riley Blake - "Sidewalks" by October Afternoon.
I used a wool batt - that's why it's so scrumptious!
And I used a pretty flannel backing from the same line.

I quilted an all-over loop design.
Very loose - I wanted it to remain puffy!

I used a cute red print from the same line for binding.

I walked down to my neighbors place to take the photos.
I LOVE this old wagon!
Thanks, Danette, for the beautiful setting!

Cori & Des are offering another quilt retreat in lovely
McCall, ID.
Hurry, registration is closing mid-month!

pumpkin seed flower quilt

Martha, from Missouri, made this adorable pumpkin seed flower quilt for herself.

I love it when we get to make a quilt just for ourselves!
No - it's not selfish - it's rewarding and fun!
It's such a pretty springy quilt.
Is that striped binding just about the cutest ever?
Martha was a little hesitant about it but I think it's perfect!

I quilted a large feather in each "seed" shape and single loops in the background.
I wanted the seed/leaves to stand on their own.

Such happy pretty prints!
That backing - I could honestly live with an entire bolt of it!

This quilt says, "happy spring", to me.
Thank you, Martha, for bringing some spring into my sewing room!
Are you working on a springy quilt?

Candy's quilts....

One of my customers from Missouri, "hi" Candy, spent some serious time with her sewing machine and produced 4 quilts for me to quilt!
She's getting WAY ahead of the holidays this year...
Here's her pretty spring quilt...

This beauty got loose swirls all over - edge to edge.

What a perfect backing!

I thing swirls fit almost any quilt!

 Here's her beautiful patriotic quilt...

Each block is different so I quilted a single edge-to-edge wave all over it.

Here's her Autumn quilt...

I quilted simple leaves & loops in the center, a ribbon in the inner border and straight lines in the outer border.

Here's her Christmas quilt...

I love a pretty Christmas Chain - I quilted loops in the center, another ribbon in the inner border and swirls, loops and holly leaves in the outer border.

Now you're ready for any holiday this year!
Thanks, Candy!
They are all beautiful!

Donimi's "Swoon"

Domini, from Idaho, made this beautiful "Swoon" quilt out of Tula Pink prints.

I can blog about it now that the holiday's are behind us!
I never, ever get tired of seeing "Swoon" quilts.
Her little girl called it her "raccoon quilt".

And look at that backing!  Perfect....pink raccoons.

I quilted pretty loops and flowers all over it.

I'm so in love with Tula Pink fabrics - I just might have to make another Swoon out of them for myself!
I love your color combinations, Domini, very pretty!

baby quilts

I love everything about baby quilts.
I love picking out patterns and fabrics.
I love piecing them.
I love quilting them.
Here are some that my customers made...
Christine, from Rhode Island, made this sweet little pyramid one:

I quilted loops within each triangle - each direction.
The backing is just as sweet at the top.

Jan, from Florida, made this modern one:

I quilted random spaced straight lines in the solid background and looped the patchwork squares.

I like how Jan used some strips in the center of the back.

I loved this one so much that I made one, too.

I don't know who will get it - I just had to have one on hand!
I quilted wavy lines and looped the patchwork squares.

I used a dot flannel for the back.
Thanks, Jan, for the simple idea - I'll be making more of this one!

Denise, from Florida, made this cute critter quilt.

The prints are adorable!
I quilted a wood grain all-over pattern.

Julie, from California, pieced this patchwork, wonky star quilt for her new grandson.

I love how it turned out - she wanted simple quilting because she put grey minky on the back.

Very snuggly!

Are you working on any baby quilts?

VS (vintage sheet) quilt

Bev, from Virginia, made this very simple, beautiful vintage sheet quilt.
She collects vintage sheets and makes pretty things with them.

 These blocks are 10" squares.

I quilted chunky flowers & loops all over.
Bev used a vintage sheet for the backing - perfect!

She also sent me a cute mermaid quilt.
Bev wanted a clamshell design and because of the direction I quilt the shells, I needed to know if the quilt was directional.
Bev helped me out by marking the top of both the back & the front with masking tape.
I love this idea!

Now I know which direction to load the quilt on my machine.

I love these little mermaid prints....I don't see too many of them here in the Montana mountains!

 Very cute quilt!

Thanks, Bev.  You always have great quilting ideas!
You can learn more about Bev on her blog here.
