Julie's quilts

Julie, from California, makes the sweetest quilts.

I LOVE this calendar quilt from Sweetwater.

Here is their lovely website.
You can get all sorts of iron-on labels.
They are an amazing company.

She let me quilt what I wanted on it and it was
 oh, so much fun!
In the stars I echoed triangles inside the points and did a curvy design in the star blocks.

I tried to highlight each month name with minimal quilting.
(my favorite month - my birthday month)
Julie embroidered on top of the labels so they stood out - so dang cute!

Her backing is a sweet peachy yellow print that really shows off the quilting.

She had some left over fabrics so she pieced them
into the backing.

The Sweetwater prints are all just darling.

..... thank you for letting me "play" on it.

Carol's pretties.....

My friend, Carol from Montana, has been a busy,
busy quilter!
She recently retired from her day job and is having a blast making quilts for everyone she knows!
Here are just a few of her lovely creations...

I quilted an all-over row-by-row single loop - one of my favorite designs.

Look at that cute leaf binding...

The quilts just keep coming!  Cute backing, too.

Very masculine - this is her "Sweetwater" creation.

Red binding and recipe fabric on the back - perfect.

I get to choose the quilting designs on her quilts - love that!

I quilted simple all-over loops.
Do you love this plaid backing?

This was Carol's most challenging quilt - a Lori Holt design.

Carol did an excellent job piecing - so many ity bity pieces!

A very happy backing with a dot binding.

I quilted an all-over feather swirl design on this one.

Little squares on the back - super fun!

All bound & ready to go home.

Carol's latest quilts - a pretty pinwheel.
I had fun quilting the borders with a different
design than the center.

Oh, how I love this backing!

A quilt for her husband - he will love it!

Nothing like script fabrics - love them!

I've got to somehow get on Carol's "quilt gift" list.....:)

Christmas quilts....

Amanda, from North Carolina, made these two adorable Christmas quilts for her kids.

I love the ity bity prints in this
bright one.
I quilted all-over loops on it.

And these Sweetwater fabrics - where have they been all my life?
I quilted rows of tall loops.

This is the backing for the Sweetwater one - ity bity reindeer faces among Christmas words.

The back of this one has everything delicious and happy about Christmas.

In the corners Amanda appliqued a single gingerbread boy and a reindeer - perfect.

I love her binding choices - she will do the hand work.
You're such a good mom!
Your boys will love them.

These quilts bring,"...good tidings and great joy."

Sandy & Sweetwater & Stars

My Colorado friend, Sandy, made a real stunner of a star quilt:

I wish I knew the story behind the design - notice how some of the star points are floating off...

This is the back - Sandy usually has about as much piecing on the back as the front!

The quilting really stands out on this beauty.
I swirled the background and straight-lined the stars.

I absolutely love this "Feed Company" line of fabric by Sweetwater

Script fabrics are always a favorite of mine and this line has recipes printed on it.
Real recipes you can use....biscuits, pie, cookies...

Notice Sandy's personal label with her name printed on it?  (lower right)
Sweetwater will do that for you!  You can order it here.

Sandy usually gives her quilts away.
But, she finished this amazing civil war print sampler just for herself.

Every block is a different pattern.

I quilted straight lines in each block which resulted in an
all-over grid.
The borders got some other treatments.

Thanks, Sandy, for letting me quilt your beautiful quilts.
It's always a treat!
