Erynn's first quilt...

Our Colorado family came to visit over Thanksgiving.

14-year old Erynn didn't have anything to do.

So I asked her, "Do you know how to use a sewing machine?" ....."no"...

Well, we had about 7 days together -

so she learned how to use one!

She went through my stash of fabrics and

picked out some pretties.

She cut 5" squares - 168 of them - sewed them together

and this is the result:

 

  So much pinning.....

 

 

 We took a few breaks to make cookie dough... 

 

 

 

She quilted single loops on my long arm machine.

 

 

It turned out so, so pretty.....just like her.

 

 

I enjoyed every single minute with her......

4 new Cluck Cluck Sew patterns...

YES - 4 new patterns by my friend,

Allison Harris, of Cluck Cluck Sew.

"Woven", "Celebrate", "Starstruck", and "Uptown".

She's also using some of her new "Dixie" fabrics,

 so wonderful!

I don't know how she does it - with 4 kiddos.

She's my hero!

I was lucky enough to get to quilt 2 of these new quilts.

(Allison takes much better photos than I do - so just keep that in mind.)

Carol's pretties.....

My friend, Carol from Montana, has been a busy,

busy quilter! 

She recently retired from her day job and is having a blast making quilts for everyone she knows! 

Here are just a few of her lovely creations...

 

 

I quilted an all-over row-by-row single loop - one of my favorite designs.

 

 

Look at that cute leaf binding...

 

 

The quilts just keep coming!  Cute backing, too.

 

 

Very masculine - this is her "Sweetwater" creation.

 

 

Red binding and recipe fabric on the back - perfect.

 

 

I get to choose the quilting designs on her quilts - love that!

 

 

I quilted simple all-over loops.

This was Carol's most challenging quilt - a Lori Holt design.

 

 

Carol did an excellent job piecing - so many ity bity pieces!

I quilted an all-over feather swirl design on this one.

my LOVE-ly quilts...

I started this pretty quilt about 3 years ago.

 

I had an entire bolt of this Valori Wells linen fabric and wanted to show it off.

 

This pattern of Allison's seemed the perfect choice for it.

It's a Cluck Cluck Sew pattern called "Ring Toss", but I'm calling it my hugs or kisses quilt. 

 

I can never remember which is which - are the "o's" the hugs or kisses?

Or maybe the "x's" are the hugs - your arms are wrapped around...?

But, your mouth is an "o" when you kiss.....help me out here!

Either way - it's my LOVE quilt.....

 

 

Because I had an entire bolt and it was 54" wide, it only made sense to use it for the backing, too.

 

 

 I quilted large loop-d-loops all over.

 

 

I made this cute little quilt for my neighbor's new

little Miss Ruby.

 

 

It's the Buggy Barn pattern, Heather, that I've used

over and over.

It starts out like this....

I inserted a little "P.S. I love you" label into the

binding on the front.

The backing is flannel - and I made a scrappy binding.

 

 I quilted large loop-d-loops on this one, too.
