Danielle's quilts & shakers!

Danielle, who lives in Colorado, was on a sampler kick!
Here are two quilts using the same pattern but completely different fabrics:

 These prints are darling!
A little girl picking apples...

A little boy and his guitar...

I quilted an all-over clam shell in the center and cross-hatched the checked border.

This one is made with pretty Christmas prints.

I quilted swirls in the center and orange peeled the outer checkered border.

Then Danielle adds this very modern quilt!

Each block was different.  She wanted me to use a variegated primary colored thread...perfect!

I quilted double bubbles in the sashing and single waves in each block.

 Do you LOVE this backing?

Then she sends me these darling Pyrex salt & pepper shakers!

Thank you, Danielle.
It's always fun quilting for you...and, I love my shakers!

sister love...

My sister, LeAnn, loves to do hand work.
I used to love it - but not so much anymore - so I'm glad she still loves it!
She also understands my passion for Pyrex bowls and dish towels.

This is what she comes up with:

Is that just about the cutest embroidery work ever?

Here's one of my flowered pink dishes that matches the little dish on top...

I love my stacking mixing bowls...

Thank you, sister, for the perfect gift!  I love you...

Pow-Wow quilts!

Cute Katie, from Pennsylvania, sent these adorable twin baby boy quilts to be quilted.
I love this pattern!
It's "Pow Wow" from Cluck Cluck Sew.
You can purchase one here at Allison's shop.

Each one had different prints so I quilted them different.
One was quilted with swirls, the other one was quilted with double bubbles.

But look at these flannel backings....
extra cute!

Katie tucked this cute little pyrex dish inside the box when she sent the quilt "parts" to me.

She knows I love pyrex and said while she was out shopping, she saw this blue dish and thought it was perfect to send with the little boy quilts.

I course I filled it with coconut flavored M&M's.
Oh my!
Have I ever mentioned my love of coconut?
Oh, that's right - I have - here!
They're SOOOOO good!

I love my vintage table cloth my friend, Brooke - from Arizona, sent.
Thank you, Katie & Brooke.
My table is so pretty and springy!

breakfast potatoes...and Pyrex!

I had a bunch of left-over baked potatoes from an event the other day.
I could make baked potato soup.
I could make hash browns.
I could freeze the cubed potatoes.
Or - I could make these breakfast potatoes.

They are so simple and delish!
And it gives me the chance to use my darling little pink Pyrex dish that my friend, Katie, from Pennsylvania, gave me.

Isn't that so pretty?

I love layered foods - I don't know why - I just like the look of it and the challenge of getting ALL the ingredients on my fork in one scoop!

Here's the recipe:

3 cups shredded hash browns
3/4 cups shredded cheese - any kind will do
1 cup diced ham
1/4 cup chopped onions
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
salt & pepper to taste

Spray a 2-quart dish - OR - your cute Pyrex baking dish with cooking spray.  Arrange potatoes evenly in the bottom.  Sprinkle with cheese, ham & onions.  Combine the eggs, milk, salt & pepper.  Pour egg mixture over potato mixture.  Bake, uncovered, @ 305 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
enjoy!!!

pink-ish...

I'm so in love with this pink-ish color lately.
I keep seeing it and I'm drawn to it.
Thank you, Dawn, for making this pretty pink soap!
(I use it in an oil bottle my friend, Brook, gave me years ago.)

My customer, Kathleen, from Pennsylvania, sent me several quilts to quilt recently.
One of my favorites is this Modern Baby quilt.
It has this pink-ish, peachy color in it.
It's a very simple design and she asked me to quilt radiating straight lines in two blocks and pebble the other two.
It was a challenge, but so fun!

Here is the backing....love the grey and that little bit of piecing set in.

A close-up of the flying geese "bits" on the front:

Another beauty she sent me...."coins"....with an all-over cross-hatching design.

Tucked inside all of her lovely quilts was this beautiful pink Pyrex dish with flowers.
Somehow she remembered I am in love with Pyrex!
My other pink Pyrex dishes welcomed their new friend to our home.

I didn't hesitate to put my new/old dish to good use.
Yes, cherry cheesecake!

A favorite of ours.
Cherry Cheesecake:
For the crust, crush one package of graham crackers and add 1/2 cube melted butter.  Spread it in the bottom of your dish.
Filling:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 8oz package of cream cheese (room temperature)
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Topping:
1 can cherry pie filling
Combine filling ingredients, mix until smooth, pour into crust then top with cherry (or your favorite) filling.
