Candy's quilts....

Candy, from Missouri, asked me to quilt a few of her quilts.
I love Candy's style - it always speaks to me.
This is Thimble Blossoms, "Round and Round",
pattern found here.
I have the pattern but I had never seen it in "real life".
I fell in love with it all over again.
Candy used a pretty Lori Holt line of vintage fabrics.

I quilted a pretty swirl design in the background and
outlined the stars.
I love this backing, too.

This is one of the cutest little guy quilts I've ever seen....."Tools, Baby", pattern found here.

She made it for her great nephew who comes from a long line of customer home builders - perfect!
I quilted small loops in the background and customized each tool with straight line quilting.

Who doesn't love "Boo Crew" fabrics by Sweetwater.

I quilted a wood grain/water swirl all-over pattern.

Thank you, Candy, for letting me add a little something to each of these darling quilts.
I can't wait to see what you're creating next!

Sam's quilt....

My friend, Sherri, from Alaska, made this beautiful quilt for our friend, Sam.

Sam loves lots and lots of color - so this quilt is perfect.
I love how Sherri always seems to be able to pair the right colors and prints together.
It's a simple 1/2 square triangle quilt, but notice how she pieced the 4-patch block colors to create a larger
diamond shape.

Her fabric stash is phenomenal - she might have used the same print maybe twice in this quilt, but that's it.
I quilted a simple all-over swirl design.

Sherri chose a Kaffe Fasset piece for the binding and a pretty red/white print for the backing.

Binding - finished!

I have not met either Sherri or Sam in person, but I consider both of them my very good friends.
One day I will get to meet them.
We all live in different states, but we will make it happen!

Sam was completely surprised by this gift -
didn't even see it coming!

Enjoy this beauty, Sam, and yes.....we both hugged it before we sent it to you.

Hearts and Plus quilts

Allison, of Cluck Cluck Sew, made this very pretty heart quilt.

You can make one, too, from her free tutorial found here.
She's always so generous with her patterns.
I've seen this pattern created over and over.
She asked me to quilt hers - I love her color choices - so I quilted pretty all-over concentric swirls.

The hearts are all  reds and pinkish, with an
aqua sashing  - oooooh so lovely.

Here is her blog post about making "All the Hearts".
Her backing is the perfect choice.

She also posted about her mom making this
pretty "Simple Addition" quilt.
You can purchase the pattern here in Allison's shop.

She used all florals and a few "plus" prints.

I quilted a loose swirl because she has this
snuggly minky on the back.

So, so pretty and feminine.

Thank you - both of you - for letting me quilt your lovelies.
You inspire me....

cute quilt label idea...

My Idaho friend, Karen, created this label idea for her quilts.
I think it's genius!

She takes a square of fabric, folds it in half diagonally with wrong sides together, writes or embroiders her information on it, then sews the two raw edges into the binding on the back of her quilt.  All she has to do is slip stitch the one folded edge down.

Here are a few photos of some she made.
This is a patriotic one she wrote on with a permanent marker.

Karen used the script program on her sewing machine to make this one:

I love this - she cut the information from the selvage edge of the fabric she used and sewed it on for the label.

This is a stunning quilt Karen made - all batiks.
She said it was her first large quilt - go big or go home?

I quilted a pretty swirl all over it.

She added this very cool "weave" to the back with her left-over squares.  So pretty.

Get creative with your labels!
I'm stealing Karen's idea...

Sherri's quilts...

My Anchorage, Alaska friend, Sherri, makes the most amazing quilts.
They are simple and beautiful.
I love simplicity....and I find myself wanting to make every single one of her quilts for myself.
She has a flair for putting the perfect colors together.
Just like this 16-patch.

She certainly knows how to mix 'n match!
I did a simple stipple on this comfy quilt.
 Sherri has fabulous backings, too.

She very seldom uses the same fabric line within a quilt.
(I wish Sherri lived closer, I would beg her to give me a lesson on color & design!)
Here's a cute little crib size 4-patch....sweetness.

And here it is again made out of Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
I cross-hatched this one.

Again - a perfect Kaffe backing!

This soothing "T" quilt is so calming....

I hate to admit this, but....I've never made a log cabin quilt.
I love log cabins so much and Sherri had me at "scrappy look" on this one.

This is the latest quilt I quilted for her.
Triangles for her granddaughter's "big girl" bed.

Swirls - lots and lots of pretty swirls.
They're just the right touch for the cute hot air balloon backing.
(I had to order some for my stash, too.)

I want this quilt, just for me....

Thank you, Sherri, for the constant inspiration I gain from your lovely quilts.

Two to Tango....

Laura, from Washington, made two "Tango" quilts.
One was for a birthday and the other was for her to hang on her wall.
They're both so different from each other and I love them both!
It's a Cluck Cluck Sew pattern that you can purchase here.
This is the one Laura will hang on her wall - it has a lot of white in it which makes some of the blocks appear to be floating - I love it.

I quilted a pretty all-over swirl on this one.
Soft & feminine.

Here is her son's birthday Tango.

It's more scrappy looking with fantastic colors!

I quilted an all-over large stipple with random swirls
thrown in.

I have plans for my own "Tango".

I'm going to use all my favorite colors.....aqua, yellow, orange, lime green, and pink.

Thank you, Laura, for inspiring me to pull my "Tango" out and get cutting!
Your quilts are wonderful!

Danielle's quilts & shakers!

Danielle, who lives in Colorado, was on a sampler kick!
Here are two quilts using the same pattern but completely different fabrics:

 These prints are darling!
A little girl picking apples...

A little boy and his guitar...

I quilted an all-over clam shell in the center and cross-hatched the checked border.

This one is made with pretty Christmas prints.

I quilted swirls in the center and orange peeled the outer checkered border.

Then Danielle adds this very modern quilt!

Each block was different.  She wanted me to use a variegated primary colored thread...perfect!

I quilted double bubbles in the sashing and single waves in each block.

 Do you LOVE this backing?

Then she sends me these darling Pyrex salt & pepper shakers!

Thank you, Danielle.
It's always fun quilting for you...and, I love my shakers!
